Pirogovo Museum of Folk Arcitecture and Life


What is special?
  A national museum, which preserved the culture of Ukrainian people, is located in the suburbs of town Pirogiv. Three hundred ancient rural huts, collected from all over Ukraine can be seen in Pirogovo. The majority of them were moved to the museum and then reconstructed. Huts, wooden churches, water and wind mills, also clothes, kitchen utensils dating back to the period of 17th beginning of the 20th century give to every visitor a realistic impression of the travel in time.

Description
  This is something unique. Pirogovo is a huge territory where from all over Ukraine original ancient buildings have been brought and rebuilt again. For everybody who is interested in Ukrainian life of the past with emphasis on how the ordinary rural population has lived this is a must see.
  The territory of historic Pyrogovo now serves as the location of a 1.5 km² (370 acre) outdoor Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. Founded in 1969, the museum contains over 300 pieces of folk architecture brought here from all parts of Ukraine and carefully reassembled. The picturesque hill with several windmills is the museum centrepiece and the entire territory of the museum is divided into sectors, each representing the folk architecture and life of a specific Ukrainian region.
  Commoner's homes, buildings of small trade, commerce and local administration, and old wooden village churches contain authentic items that represent the everyday lifestyle of Ukrainian villagers and townsfolk. Local volunteers and modern Ukrainian artisans selling their wares dress in old-style clothes and demonstrate the use of authentic everyday items to visitors.
  Pyrogovo museum has been accorded the status of State Museum of Ukraine and is affiliated with the Institute of Arts, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine.
  This is a place where most of Folk fesivals and National celebrations are arranged. There are two restaurants of ukrainian cuisine situated there, so there is no chance to became hungry.

Jews have played and important part in the Ukraine history. Ukraine having being for a long time a country where a lot of people came to live to run away persecutions that existed in the European and Russian empire, the jewish communauty has been very large in different parts of Ukraine and has included very famous personnalities as Rabbi Nakhman (1772-1810) who founded Hassidism. As in many countries in Europe, the Jewish communauty story was also a long tragedy during the last century with the pogroms organised during the Russian empire and the civil war after WWI, the Shoah during nazi invasion and the soviet times. 
 
  

Baturin- kozatsky capital


What is special?

  Baturin has an extraordinary aura. A secret, riddle, is felt in Baturine at every step. Annually thousands of visitors arrive here and nobody remains indifferent. Even those, who from the beginning was skeptically adjusted, they say : „ And here is it glorious hetman the capital...? " ( such, by the way, a bit ), listening the keen stories of tour guides, stepping earth, paths which Hetmen went about in, already see before itself not simply a picturesque village - before their eyes majestic, zolotobanniy of Baturin. And they, as a law, returns here yet not once - already together with a monogynopaedium, friends, acquaintances.

Description
   Baturin - Renaissance capital today of three Ukrainian hetman. Since 1994, it houses the National Historical and Cultural Reserve "Hetman's capital". The main attraction is the magnificent palace BATURINA last hetman of Left Bank Ukraine Kirill Razumovsky. Furthermore, without interest reconstructed citadel Cossack times. Great interest is the collection of the reserve, which maintains more than 15 thousand exhibits the Cossack period.
